You won’t know me, but I would like you to pass this message onto your beautiful wife Farah, whom I knew when I worked at Plan in Woking.
I was in the town over my lunch break and I bumped into Farah. We were chatting about nothing in particular, although she must have been telling me about some event going on with her Church because out of nowhere, I said: “Are you religious?” She replied: “I’m a Christian, yes.” I said: “You are so lucky, to have that faith! ” And then, this is so amazing it still makes me take a sharp breath! – Farah simply said: “It’s free for everyone”.
Now that may not sound amazing but Farah’s quietly-spoken conviction stayed with me, always at the back of my mind. ..like something niggling…
Until one day, about five years ago, I plucked up the courage to go to a church. Just to see what happened.
I always thought I would some day tell Farah how a simple conversation in the street led to so much more for me. And I thank God that my stubbornness and pride could not withstand His great love.
